How Previo cuts milk waste using your Square sales data

May 12, 2026
5 min read

Most cafes lose money on milk in one of two ways. You run out mid-morning and turn away flat white orders, or you over-order and tip litres down the drain at closing. Both come from the same problem: guessing how much you will sell before you know it. Previo removes the guessing by using the sales data you already have.

How it works

1

Connect your Square account

In Settings, link your Square POS in a couple of clicks. Previo starts pulling in your past sales straight away, no manual entry needed.

2

Previo learns your pattern

Every coffee you sell is logged automatically. Previo builds a picture of how much milk you use on a normal Monday versus a busy Saturday.

3

Get a daily order number

Each morning, Previo tells you exactly how much milk to order based on what your sales pattern says you will need, not what you think you might need.

A simple example

Say your cafe sells twice as many coffees on Saturday as it does on a Tuesday. A flat order amount would leave you short on the weekend and wasteful during the week. Previo adjusts the number for each day automatically, so you order closer to what you will actually use.

Less waste means more money staying in your business. Once Square is connected, this runs quietly in the background, so you can focus on running the cafe instead of counting milk crates.
